What is the truth about Caulfield Prison?
In the penultimate episode of Roswell, the New Mexico season premiere, Noah’s life is on the line and the truth about Caulfield Prison is revealed.
There is only one episode left in the first season of Roswell, New Mexico and if this sounds like the penultimate episode, I’ll need an extra box of tissues. Tonight’s episode was a rude awakening to the horrors of Roswell’s bloodstained history books. Let’s dive into the 8 main takeaways from Season 1, Episode 12 of Roswell, New Mexico.
8. Cam leaves town.
Now that the Max / Liz train has officially left the station and started its romantic journey, there’s no point in having Cam around. I wish Cam had a bigger story arc, but her goal was to be a romantic foil for Liz and nothing else.
So far, his role in Roswell, New Mexico is done (and hey, that frees up Riley Voelkel for a potential Heritage guest spot in season two… I’m just saying.) Cam’s sister has been relegated to another Ohio jail and Cam wants to be closer to her. Guess she’s finally free from Jesse Manes?
7. Liz has been marked by Noah.
When Noah is afraid, Liz is afraid – not a good sign. Turns out the mark Noah left on Liz’s chest after their gala brawl tied her to him. Their connection means Liz can feel whatever Noah feels and it forces her to empathize with him whether she likes it or not.
It also creates a crisis of conscience when it comes to deciding whether or not to let Noah die from Liz’s serum or give her the antidote.
Liz can’t let him die, not because she wants him to live, but because she refuses to be a killer. Max ultimately takes the burden of this choice for himself. He’s taking the antidote. Therefore, he is the one who refuses to heal Noah and not Liz. Find yourself a man ready to murder so you can keep your hands clean girls!
6. Noah used Isobel’s body unwittingly for years.
As if owning Isobel and forcing her to kill people wasn’t bad enough, it turns out that Noah had slipped through a crack in her psyche. age above all, the Rosa incident. Isobel was horribly raped in her body and in her mind by this creature.
He fed off his strength and vitality until he was strong enough to change shape and become his own man again. He used kill her so that he can absorb the life force of his victims and stay young. Poor Isobel. The idea of someone doing this to her body without her consent, especially someone she loved, is a nightmare. I can’t imagine she could recover from the trauma anytime soon.
5. Caulfield is an alien prison.
Alex, Kyle and Michael make the heinous discovery of Sheriff Valenti’s former prison. In fact, the supposedly deceased building has actually been a secret alien testing lab for the past seven decades.
Housed in the old cells are hundreds of aliens who have gone mad with fear after being tested and tortured year after year by Jim Valenti and his partner, Jesse Manes. It’s a macabre realization, compounded by the fact that Alex’s own brother is there to run the facility. Alex is really the only good guy from all damaged Manes bloodline.
