West Ham United obtains approval to increase capacity at London stadium
West Ham United are delighted to confirm that planning permission has been granted to increase the London stadium’s match capacity to 62,500.
With 2,500 more seats to vacate once the security certificate application is complete, West Ham United can once again hope to beat the Club attendance record and welcome more of our loyal supporters to the Hammers games.
This will help meet the growing demand for tickets, with a steady influx of 60,000 in the Premier League and magnificent UEFA Europa League support complemented by a full house on Wednesday night for the Carabao Cup fourth round match against Manchester City. , with fans enjoying watching David Moyes’ team continue to evolve and impress.
The expansion is another positive step for the club as it finally reaches full stadium capacity – now close to 67,000 due to improvements to the Bobby Moore and Sir Trevor Brooking stands – which would see the home of West Ham United in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park become the largest Premier League stadium in London.
West Ham United Vice-President Baroness Brady said: âThe request for increased match day capacity will give more of our fans the opportunity to watch our exciting squad in action in person. Since the fans’ steady return this year, we’ve seen a tremendous response with every sold-out Premier League game so far this season, and we thank them for their continued fantastic support, including breaking attendance records in the Part of regular capacity crowds at London Stadium.
