Taylor Swift + other women have the most songs added on country radio
Rising country singer Brooke Eden congratulated four of her female peers who made it to the top five most added songs on country radio for the week.
Eden shared the exciting news via Twitter on Monday (December 4), posting a screenshot of the Mediabase list of most added songs that sees Taylor Swift, Carly Pearce, Cam and Lindsay Ell claiming four of the top five locations with “New Years,” “Hide the Wine,” “Diane” and “Criminal,” respectively.
“4 girls in the top 5 most added songs this week on country radio! GO GIRLS GO!” Eden writes in the legend, marking the four pioneer women.
Many women artists have spoken out against the lack of opportunities for women artists on country radio in recent years, with Miranda Lambert calling him “BS, right now.”
“Carrie Underwood still wrestling, and it blows my mind because she has a million hits and she’s Carrie Freakin ‘Underwood, “Lambert said. Red book. “I tell them on the radio stations, ‘play one of us; it is not necessarily me. Then we all win. “I’ll fight for this until I can’t take it anymore.”
Maren Morris also used his voice to draw attention to absence of country singers in major festivals. “When I look at most of the lineups, especially in the countryside, the women definitely run out of numbers,” she says (quote via Charm). “I was maybe one of two people recently at a festival. I really see the lack of opportunities for new female artists to have any time on stage with these crowds.”
Eden’s latest EP Welcome to the weekend was released in 2016 and includes their current single “Act Like You Don’t”. It is also present on Granger smiththe track of “Crazy like me, ”Featured on his chart-topping album, Remington.
