Popular London restaurant queues for hours to try ‘finest pancakes’ and ‘incredible French toast’
If you’ve been on Tiktok or Instagram lately, chances are you’ve seen this East London restaurant appear on your feed.
Palaette in Hackney is known for its beautiful presentation, colorful aesthetic, and Mediterranean cuisine.
In fact, it has become so well-known that those hoping to visit the brunch venue might be faced with a wait of up to two hours during peak times.

Food is worth the wait, as many reviewers have mentioned.
Reviewer Lee Lee wrote, “I have been to Palaette several times and on each visit the food has been absolutely delicious.
“The only problem some may have is the wait time for a table, but to be honest it’s worth the wait. For me, I don’t mind as I know what the outcome will be when I sit down. “
Another reviewer, ND, wrote: “So glad we waited, the food was delicious, the French toast was absolutely amazing.”
The restaurant’s Instagram page features photos of high-stacked pancakes surrounded by fresh fruit and edible flowers, as well as snaps of savory dishes topped with eggs, hash browns and more.
Each image is accompanied by a flood of emojis, hearts of love and friends tagging each other saying they SHOULD just visit.
Palaette does not take reservations, so all visitors are passing through, hence the long wait on busy days.
One Tiktok user even claimed to have waited two hours to enter.
The majority of reviews remain overwhelmingly positive.
“Very busy must have stood in line for over an hour,” Ali Junaid wrote in a review, “but it was worth it”.
The #palaette hashtag has been viewed nearly 560,000 times on Tiktok, with users calling it “London‘s prettiest breakfast spot”, “London’s finest pancakes” and “London must-see”.

Palaette is open Monday through Saturday 9am to 5.30pm and Sunday 9am to 4pm – but you might want to arrive early!
