Police appeal after shotgun fired through south London apartment window

Police have issued an appeal after a shotgun was fired at a person inside a building in south London.
Officers were called to Hasty Close in Mitcham shortly after 12.30pm on Tuesday March 31, to reports that a gun had been fired.
A dark Audi car apparently carrying three men had pulled into the parking lot of an apartment building, before a brick was thrown through the victim’s bedroom window.
A shotgun was fired at the person inside – but the shots missed and the victim was unharmed.
The car then fled. On Friday, police released footage of the car they suspected was involved in the “shocking incident”.
Detective Constable Meechok Maingarm, of the Met’s crime team, said: ‘I know many people may have heard or seen something as the crime scene is a large residential estate where most apartments have windows facing the parking lot.
“We’ve had a number of people come forward, but I urge anyone with any information, however small, to contact us so we can find those responsible for this shocking incident.”
Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call police on 101, or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 804/31Mar.
