Madame Tussauds London drops Kanye West wax figure
Kanye West’s London wax double has been the victim of his latest meltdown.
Famous wax museum Madame Tussauds London rips a wax figure of West from its floor following the rapper’s anti-Semitic remarks earlier this month.
The Museum of England announced the decision on Wednesday after listening to the public on “what they expect to see”, according to the BBC.
The wax figure of West, who legally changed his name to Ye, will be removed from public view and placed in the museum archives.
“The Ye figurine has been removed from the attraction floor in our archives. Every profile deserves its place at Madame Tussauds London and we listen to our guests and the public about who they expect to see at the attraction” , the museum reportedly said in a statement.
The wax figure first arrived at the museum in 2015 along with a waxwork of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, the BBC reported.
The wax museum is the latest in a long list of institutions to cut ties with the West.
Adidas dropped the “Stronger” rapper on Tuesday after the sportswear company faced mounting pressure to exit the decade-long relationship.
“Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness,” the company said in a statement Tuesday.
Balenciaga and Gap are other brands to run from West. His talent agent CAA has also parted ways with him and his completed documentary will also not be shown.
Johnny Depp’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez, also released him a few days after refusing to withdraw his hateful remarks.
“I’m a little sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m gonna die a fuck 3 On The JEWS,” West wrote in an Oct. 9 tweet.
The “All of the Lights” singer also shared on Instagram since-deleted screenshots of an iMessage exchange in which he accused Sean Combs, better known as Diddy, of being controlled by Jewish people .
West was defiant throughout the public uproar.
