Liverpool 2022 pre-season: squad list, tour schedule, results, fixtures
Although Liverpool narrowly missed out on the Champions League and Premier League last season, Jurgen Klopp’s side still managed to secure FA Cup and EFL Cup glory.
In 2022/23, the Reds will be determined to fight for the biggest prizes again and have already strengthened their squad, facilitating the loss of Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich.
It’s been a hectic pre-season schedule for Liverpool, which includes games against Manchester United and Crystal Palace in Thailand and Singapore respectively before traveling to Germany to face RB Leipzig. Then it’s on to Austria for a clash against Salzburg ahead of a home game against Strasbourg just a day after an earlier than usual Community Shield clash with Manchester City.
Here’s how their pre-season is going and who’s on their squad.
List of Liverpool 2022 pre-season squads
Unlike some of the other big clubs, Liverpool already have plenty of senior players in training, including Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino, Joel Matip and Luis Diaz, as well as new signing Fabio Carvalho.

In their absence, Klopp called up a contingent of youngsters in training, including Isaac Mabaya, Jake Cain, Melkamu Frauendorf, Owen Beck, Tom Hill and Bobby Clark.

Liverpool 0-4 Manchester United
Jurgen Klopp’s first meeting with Erik ten Hag as Manchester United boss ended in disappointment in Thailand. Jadon Sancho scored the first goal of the Ten Hag era, before two early goals from Fred and Martial made it 3-0 at halftime. Youngster Facundo Pellistri, who was introduced at half-time in place of Sancho, scored fourth on an impressive performance for the Red Devils, but Klopp made wholesale changes to his squad throughout.
1st half: Alisson, Mabaya, Phillips, Gomez, Chambers, Henderson, Morton, Carvalho, Elliott, Diaz, Firmino.
Liverpool 2-0 Crystal Palace
Liverpool fared better in Singapore, beating Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace thanks to a first-half goal from captain Jordan Henderson and one from Mohamed Salah moments after the break. Klopp changed teams again in the interval, with Darwin Nunez still having 45 minutes.
1st half: Adrian, Milner, Matip, Konaté, Tsimikas, Elliott, Henderson, Jones, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Firmino, Diaz.
2nd half: Davies, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Van den Berg, Robertson, Keita, Fabinho, Thiago, Carvalho, Nunez, Salah.
