Full casting for the postponed London premiere of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, with Janie Dee

The casting is over for the London premiere of Christopher Durang’s Tony-winning film Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, which will premiere at the Charing Cross Theater on November 5 before a grand opening on November 15. The performances will continue until January 8, 2022.
Directed by Tony winner Walter Bobbie, the production was in rehearsal and was slated to open in March 2020 as the pandemic shut down theaters around the world.
Michael Maloney (The crown), Rebecca Lacey, Charlie Maher, Sara Powell and Lukwesa Mwamba. Dee and Lacey reprise their roles from the 2019 race at the Theater Royal Bath.
In the Tony-winning comedy, Vanya and her sister Sonia lead a quiet life on the Pennsylvania farm where they grew up. But their sister Masha, a famous movie star, returns unexpectedly with her boyfriend Spike, in her twenties.
The comedy debuted at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater at Lincoln Center Theater on November 12, 2012, then moved to Broadway’s Golden March 14 on March 14, 2013, and won the Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Best Play.
Upcoming production will also include set design by David Korins, costume design by Emily Rebholz, sound design and original music by Mark Bennett, and cast by Ginny Schiller.
