A fantasy XI for the festive meetings of the FPL

Goalkeeper: Jose Sa – Watford (H), Arsenal (A), Man United (A)
Wolves goalkeeper Sa surprised us all by being the goalkeeper with the most goals scored in the game midway through the season. He’s kept five clean sheets in his last seven appearances, including against form sides West Ham and Chelsea.
He’s made 57 saves this campaign, ranking him third among all goalies. Expect his form to continue, despite some tough games. Only Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have a better record.
Defender: Joao Cancelo – Leicester (H), Brentford (A), Arsenal (A)
Joao Cancelo is one of three players to cross the 100 point mark before Christmas. He’s been in 10 clean sheets this season, the highest of any player, and he’s ranked sixth in assists with six.
As for defenders, only Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool and Reece James of Chelsea have been involved in more goals than Cancelo. He recently took a forced rest by suspension so should see plenty of minutes this Christmas.
Man City are available to return on 10/11 to win zero against Leicester City this weekend.
Defender: Diogo Dalot – Newcastle (A), Burnley (H), Wolves (H)
Diogo Dalot appears to be a formidable catalyst at £ 4.5million, as our teams’ fifth defender. He appears to have won the Manchester United right-back spot from Aaron Wan-Bissaka, having started the first three games under Ralf Rangnick.
During this period, Manchester United have kept two clean sheets. It’s a favorable run of fixtures ahead for Manchester United, with Burnley and Wolves ranked in the bottom three in goals scored this season.
Defender: Trent Alexander-Arnold – Leeds (H), Leicester (A), Chelsea (A)
Trent Alexander-Arnold could reach the dizzying heights of being the most expensive fantasy defender of all time this season, as he continues to gain popularity. He’s the game’s most scoring player in the last eight games, beating Mo Salah.
He’s already been involved in ten staggering goals this season, with two goals and eight assists. He also leads in bonus points, with 27, having won the maximum of three bonus points in each of his last four matches.
Defender: Marcos Alonso – Villa (A), Brighton (H), Liverpool (H)
Marcos Alonso thrived in the absence of first-choice left-back Ben Chilwell in December, racking up a fantastic 19 points in just his last three starts. He recorded an assist against Leeds and benefited from an early substitution against Everton.
His underlying numbers continue to impress, with four shots in his last four games and five key assists. Hopefully Chelsea embark on another round of clean sheets, after a barren spell, with Aston Villa and Brighton next.
Alonso return to score against Aston Villa at 5/1 in Gameweek 19.
Midfielder: Heung-Min Son – Palace (H), Southampton (A), Watford (A)
Son returned to form in December, scoring three goals in three games. He appears to be thriving under new manager Antonio Conte, with seven shots and four big chances in three Premier League games.
Upcoming opponents Southampton and Watford have been some of the Premier League‘s most porous defenses in recent weeks. Spurs are undefeated in their last five games and should have a couple of double match weeks down the line after several postponements.
Midfielder: Diogo Jota – Leeds (H), Leicester (A), Chelsea (A)
Diogo Jota continues to provide fantastic goals at a discounted cost compared to teammate Mo Salah, with six goals in his last six starts. He’s the best on shots in the last four, with 16 having had five big chances.
Then it’s a home game against Leeds United which should be a favorable game for the Reds. Leeds have conceded 16 goals in their last four games and lack a fit center-back. Jota is a great long-term catch, with Salah and Mane at CAN.
Jota is available to come back to 16/5 to score two or more goals against Leeds United this Boxing Day.
Midfielder: Gabriel Martinelli – Norwich (A), Wolves (H), Man City (H)
Martinelli appears to have clinched a starting spot in the last six weeks of the game, with four goals and two assists in six appearances. He’s had four big chances in that span and nine key assists.
He’s a great catalyst for our fantastic midfielders at £ 5.3million as we look to strengthen our benches and have a great squad of 15. Norwich City are next: They’ve conceded seven goals in their last four.
Midfielder: Jarrod Bowen – Southampton (H), Watford (A), Palace (A)
Jarrod Bowen has scored ten goals this season: three goals and seven assists. In his last four league games, he has scored 12 shots on goal, 10 of which came from inside the box.
West Ham have had an excellent run of matches during this festive period, with Southampton and Watford conceding plenty of goals in the last few matches. Bowen has minutes in every game this season, starting every game except one.
Midfielder: Kevin De Bruyne – Leicester (H), Brentford (A), Arsenal (A)
Kevin De Bruyne is back in form for Manchester City and at his best, having played 90 minutes in his last two appearances. He has scored two goals in that span, showcasing his current form.
Its underlying figures are also very encouraging. He’s made 11 shots in his last four shots and he’s also ranked fourth in assists, with 11. He shoots on goal when Gundogan is not on the pitch.
De Bruyne is available to return on 11/10 to assist against Leicester on Sunday.
Forward: Cristiano Ronaldo – Newcastle (A), Burnley (H), Wolves (H)
Cristiano Ronaldo resurfaced under Ralf Rangnick, being ranked first in shots in the last three match weeks he has played, with 14. He racked up five big chances in that span, turning into three goals.
With the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations we will be forced to move away from Mo Salah as captain, with Ronaldo becoming a key contender in our thoughts on the Manchester United game. He’s also on one-off kicks.
You can bet on Manchester United to score a penalty against Newcastle United with odds of 11/4.
