17-year-old robbed by ‘brazen’ thugs from the back of a crowded London bus
The manhunt was launched after a teenager had his jacket and phone taken from the back of a crowded London bus.
The 17-year-old was surrounded by three men shortly after boarding a 194 bus in Addiscombe Road, Croydon.
The thugs followed him to the back of the bus and demanded the teenager hand over his phone and jacket.
One of the suspects told him he had a knife.
The teenager handed over the items and the gang got off the bus shortly after 1.45pm on March 10.
Police have appealed by posting a picture of a man they would like to speak to.
The group was described as black, aged between 16 and 20, and all wearing dark clothing.
PC Johanna Hernandez Garcia said: ‘The suspects brazenly robbed the victim in broad daylight and in front of a busload of people.
“We know the impact of theft on victims and we are working to respond effectively to these crimes and investigate them thoroughly. Since the incident occurred, we have conducted various investigations and are asking now the help of the public.
